Steps to apply

To help you make a smooth transition, here are some simple steps to keep in mind through the application process.

• You must have at least 24 transferable credits of previous college work and a minimum 2.5 combined, cumulative GPA from all higher education institutions you have attended.
• If you have completed an associate degree, you may be admitted with a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher.
• If you plan to apply to a professional program such as nursing, social work, or pharmacy and health sciences, contact these programs individually for additional requirements.

If you need to understand how your previous coursework will transfer, use our Transfer Equivalency Self-Service tool to receive guidance tailored to your specific experience. And our course equivalency tool can help you know how many credits Wayne State will provide for classes you've already taken.

Use the university application and submit the $25 application fee. Submit copies of all official transcripts to:

Detroit, MI 48202 You may also be able to submit your official transcripts online. If you plan to major in music, theatre or dance, be sure to schedule an audition with the department.

Application deadlines

• Fall — Aug. 15
• Winter — Dec. 15
• Spring/summer — April 1

You should receive an admission decision within two to three weeks after submitting your application or any outstanding materials. You can also track your own admission status online.
